A September 2026 Tripadvisor review singled out EVOL as an exceptional dining experience, praising the quality of the food, atmosphere and attention to detail.
That is worth noting because it suggests the food story at Garrya Tongsai is not simply about having a good resort breakfast. Dining appears to be becoming part of the reason guests remember the property.
The resort also has Fish Tales, its beachfront dining venue, and RHOY RHOY!, which focuses on Thai cuisine.
Sustainability that feels natural
There is another quality that separates Tongsai Bay from many contemporary luxury resorts.

Its appeal is not about having the biggest villa, the newest architecture or the most theatrical swimming pool.

That sounds almost old-fashioned.

The current guest reviews make the case particularly well. Across Tripadvisor and Booking.com, the same themes keep appearing: exceptional staff, tranquillity, spacious accommodation, the private beach, strong breakfast and a feeling that the resort is genuinely personal.
For couples and honeymooners, it offers the privacy and atmosphere that make a resort feel romantic without becoming overly formal. For families, the larger villas, pools, beach and activities provide plenty to do without turning the property into a conventional family resort.
And for travellers who have stayed at enough new luxury hotels to know that new does not necessarily mean better, Tongsai Bay makes a particularly strong argument.
It has character.
It has history.
Most importantly, it still has a sense of place.

The bottom line: Garrya Tongsai Bay is luxury without the need to announce itself. On an island increasingly filled with spectacular new resorts, its greatest advantage may be that it still feels like a place rather than a product.
